Danielle Feerst is a graduate of Tufts University with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering Psychology, class of 2016. Danielle is now a graduate student in the Tufts Department of Occupational Therapy. She is the Founder and CEO of Podium (formerly AutismSees), which is a research and technology design startup for social and communication skill building apps/games to improve the communication skills and confidence of young adults. A percentage of profit is returned to the Autism community through partnerships with Aspire MGH and Microsoft. Danielle was a finalist in the 2015 MassChallenge Startup Accelerator in Boston, MA (top 128 startups of over 2500 applications worldwide) as well as a first place winner of the Tufts University Montle Prize for Entrepreneurial Achievement (2014). AutismSees, LLC won second place in the Social Impact track at the 2014 Tufts 100K New Ventures Competition. Danielle’s work is now a part of the Tufts Venture Lab and was funded by OZY Media through the OZY Genius Award in the first cohort of 10 undergraduate students that the digital magazine sponsored for “innovative high impact projects” in the United States. Danielle has been a keynote speaker at the Lowcountry Autism Consortium in Charleston, SC and at previous Autism Speaks Investment Conferences. Danielle has also been co-authored at Tufts University with a version of the iPresentWell iPad app designed by Podium for presentation and interview practice in an academic research study with social robotics for youth on the autism spectrum.
