Alexandria Trombley - Visiting Researcher and Scholar

Let’s get started with Autistic and Authentically Me™! Get Started

Alexandria is a student at Tufts University’s School of Engineering, enrolled in a 5-year BS/MS program studying Human Factors Engineering. Human factors engineering is the study of how people interact with the world, and the application of that natural interaction to interface design. In this program, Alexandria has studied a variety of different disciplines, including cognitive and experimental psychology and child development, along with her more technical work. From the time she started working at Live and Learn Early Learning Center with children who had a variety of different developmental needs, Alexandria has had a passion for working with those who are developmentally different from the general population. This passion led her to join, and later become the co-founder and COO of, AutismSees, LLC. AutismSees is a company that develops software systems to help individuals with Autism learn to communicate effectively in stressful social situations. Their first product is ‘Podium,’ an iPad- and web-based system that allows individuals to practice answering interview questions, and their service providers to provide feedback on their performance. Beyond working at Live and Learn Early Learning Center and being the co-founder and COO of AutismSees, Alexandria has held many positions which furthered her understanding of both child development and autism. Alexandria has been a research assistant at both Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University, and the Social Cognition Lab at Tufts University. She has also taught science and engineering topics in many Boston Public School classrooms through the Student Teacher Outreach Mentorship Program at Tufts. Currently, Alexandria is focused on completing her schooling at Tufts, and is excited to be working with such a wonderful group of people at SUNKISSED FAMILIES!
